KOCE Public Television’s annual gala last month raised an estimated $783,000. The money will benefit KOCE’s community service efforts and KOCE Classroom, which provides educational broadcasts and videos. Money was raised by a live auction.

Miocean Foundation in Irvine raised nearly $500,000 at its annual Blue 42 Celebration in June. The nonprofit helps preserve Orange County’s coastline. More than 400 guests attended the event, which included an auction.

San Juan Capistrano’s J.F. Shea Thera-peutic Riding Center’s annual gala raised $440,000. The center helps people with disabilities through horse-related programs and was founded by Nancy and Derek Lewis, for their son Michael, more than 30 years ago.

Irvine’s Human Options held a 1950s-themed event called “Happy Days for Human Options.” The May event raised $435,000 by live and silent auctions. Money raised will benefit the group’s programs and services, which help victims of domestic violence.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County in May raised $122,000 at its annual golf tournament for the group’s mentoring programs. Foothill Ranch-based Oakley Inc. was a title sponsor and gave the event’s 140 golfers a pair of sunglasses.

Age Well Senior Services Inc. in Laguna Woods, which helps low-income seniors, held its annual “Thanksgiving in June” event. Pimco Foundation, the charitable arm of Newport Beach-based life insurer Pacific Life Insurance Co., paid for 2,842 meals served at 13 senior centers throughout the county.

Laguna College of Art & Design raised $105,000 last month at the school’s annual Collector’s Choice Fine Art event. The money will be used for student programs and scholarships. Artists donated 142 works that were valued at more than $250,000.

Working Wardrobes in Costa Mesa held its Blue Jeans & the Classics event last month, raising $100,000. The group offers job training and free clothes for people re-entering the workforce. The money was raised through table sponsorships and ticket sales.

Talk About Curing Autism, a group that supports families affected by autism, held its annual picnic, which raised $80,000. More than 1,500 families attended the June event.

Surf Industry Manufacturers Associa-tion’s environmental fund raised more than $59,000 at its annual Waterman’s Weekend Underwriting Party in June. The money will go toward 19 ocean-related environmental groups that took part in the event.

Costa Mesa-based Someone Cares Soup Kitchen raised $58,000 at its annual gala in June. The money will support the group’s program, which provides daily meals to the homeless and others in need.

Wells Fargo Foundation gave $25,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley. The money will be used for programs that help kids in education, employment and social skills. The foundation also gave a $30,000 grant to the Junior Achievement program, which teaches kids financial skills.

Mission Viejo’s annual Dawg Walk and Pet Faire brought in $14,000 last month. The walk is put on by the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group and the city’s Animal Services Center. The money will go toward medical aid for homeless animals. Twenty-five dogs were adopted during the event.

Waste Management of Orange County gave more than $4,500 to help purchase children’s books for the Mission Viejo Library. During April, Waste Management gave $5 for every ton of recyclables collected in the city.

Mission Viejo’s Marines and Sailors Adoption Committee raised $3,000 during a pancake breakfast and car wash event. The money will be given to the city’s adopted marines and sailors.

Irvine-based Toshiba America Inc., part of Japan’s Toshiba Corp., donated products to several Haitian earthquake relief groups including Habitat for Humanity International, MercyCorps and Yéle Haiti Foundation. The donations are set to help with reconstruction efforts including housing, job creation and communication needs. The products offered include laptops, mini notebooks, portable camcorders, televisions and photocopiers.

Hotel Hanford in Costa Mesa, part of Newport Beach-based Hanford Hotels Inc., donated nearly 200 pieces of furniture and accessories to Newport Beach’s Furnishing Hope, a nonprofit that provides furniture for needy families.
