Policano to Step Down as Merage School Dean

Andy Policano will step down as dean of the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine, on July 1, 2013.

The school is expected to start a national search for a successor.

Policano will continue with UCI as faculty director for the school’s Center for Investment and Wealth Management.

He has served as dean of the Paul Merage School since 2004. The school has gained increasing recognition during his tenure, including a recent ranking of No. 1 among U.S. business schools in terms of percentage of full-time MBA students employed within 90 days of graduation. It is ranked No. 10 among U.S.-based executive MBA programs, according to the Financial Times.

The business school has hired more than 20 faculty members and set up new chairs during Policano’s tenure. A new building for the school is slated for completion in fall of 2014.
