EDUCATION

University of California, Irvine, Extension hired Missy Clayton as corporate accounts manager of the corporate training program. She will work with UC Irvine Extension instructors to develop the program’s curriculum. Clayton previously worked for the city of Irvine in human resources.

GOVERNMENT

The Democratic Foundation of Orange County elected Dan Jacobson as its chairman. He takes over for Wylie Aitken, who was chairman of the organization for 17 years. Jacobson is the owner of Tustin-based law firm Dan Jacobson & Associates.

HEALTHCARE

Tim Carlyle, Dan Kelly and Melinda Masson were selected as co-chairs of the newly formed Community Advisory Council at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach. Carlyle is a partner at Songstad & Randall LLP in Irvine. Kelly is the senior vice president of governmental relations and corporate communications for Rancho Mission Viejo LLC. Masson is the founder and chief executive of Merit Property Management Inc. in Aliso Viejo.

LAW

Snell & Wilmer LLP hired Andrew Flior as an associate in its Costa Mesa office.

Flior will be in the firm’s intellectual property practice group. He previously served as a judicial extern with the U.S. District Court in San Diego. He also has worked as a summer associate with Snell & Wilmer.

Lindsay Hogan has joined Newport Beach-based Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth as an associate in the firm’s complex business litigation practice. Hogan is a recent law school graduate from Georgetown University.

Fisher & Phillips LLP added Neal Fisher Jr. and Shaun Voigt as associates in its Irvine office. Voigt previously worked as a judicial extern with the U.S. District Court in Central California. Fisher is a recent graduate from Georgetown University.

NONPROFIT

Orange-based Providence Speech and Hearing Center added Thomas Cesario and Ashraf Abdelaaty to its board. Cesario currently resides in Newport Beach and previously was the dean of UCI’s College of Medicine. Abdelaaty is the vice president and commercial banking officer at Comerica Inc. in Irvine.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Orange County/Inland Empire chapter hired Piper Medcalf as executive director. Julia Cohen also was hired as special events manager. Medcalf previously was the development director for Boys Town California in Santa Ana. Cohen previously worked as a campaign manager for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program. She will oversee the nonprofit’s up-coming Man and Woman of the Year fundraising campaign.

REAL ESTATE

Austin, Texas-based Keller Williams Realty Inc.’s Lackman Commercial Group hired Ram Setya as a director in its Mission Viejo office. Setya has more than 40 years of experience managing and selling residential and commercial properties.

City Ventures Real Estate Investments LLC hired Chris Encheff as vice president of acquisitions in its Santa Ana office. Encheff previously worked at O’Donnell/Atkins Co., a land brokerage in Irvine.

SERVICES

Catherine Aldrich joined Irvine-based Hire Right Inc., an employment screening services company, as vice president of operations. Aldrich has more than 20 years of experience in background screening and public records research. She previously was executive vice president of Accurate Background Inc. in Lake Forest.
