Charitable Gifts Highlighted in February Edition

Did you, your company or foundation give—or did your organization receive—a large cash or noncash gift in 2025?

If so, the Business Journal wants to hear from you.

We’re collecting data for the largest cash and noncash gifts of 2025 donated by companies, foundations and people to recipients in Orange County.

The list is scheduled to be published in the Feb. 2 edition of the Business Journal, an issue that will highlight a wide range of philanthropic efforts in OC.

Cash gifts of $1 million or more, and other notable noncash gifts will be considered for the list and related coverage.

Last year, we published more than 90 entries in our ranking of the largest charitable gifts.
Topping the list in 2024 were two $50 million gifts to UCI from Orange County biotech entrepreneur Charlie Dunlop and Joe C. Wen, founder and CEO of Formosa LTD. Other top donations came from Benjamin and Carmela Du, and the Martin and Pickup families to Hoag Hospital Foundation.
