Two brothers who graduated from California State University, Fullerton developed a business called Saucer, inspired by the popular subculture of unidentified flying objects and aliens.
Saucer creates apparel and collectibles which have been featured in the Netflix series “Files of the Unexplained,” as well as Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
“It’s become more of a topic in mainstream media I would say in the last two years,” Co-Founder David Salcedo told the Business Journal.
While the company is based in Alhambra, David said they partner with suppliers in Orange County.
CSUF Graduates
Brothers David and Nick Salcedo co-founded Saucer while they were still students at CSUF, where they both majored in international business.
David graduated in 2019 and Nick in 2022. They bootstrapped the company and said they are open to fundraising down the line.
One of Saucer’s most recent collections centers around what UFO enthusiasts know as the Roswell incident, a theory alleging that debris from the 1947 crash of a United States Army Air Force high-altitude balloon in Roswell, New Mexico was from a UFO.
David said Saucer received licensing rights to feature images from the original crash in the collection.
Saucer is projected to make more than a million in sales this year, according to David.
