WHY: Co-founded chip company in 2007 that uses sensors, semiconductors and software with a goal to enable the “uncrashable” car. Took the Aliso Viejo company public in 2021 when it raised $495M through a SPAC. It focuses on technology for advanced driver assistance systems—often referred to as ADAS. The many uses for ADAS include parking assist, obstacle detection, facial detection and radar and semi-autonomous driving features.
IN THE NEWS: Holds five patents worldwide and earned a master’s degree in engineering electronics and electrical from the University of Glasgow. Prior to co-founding Indie, was a vice president of marketing at Axiom Microdevices tasked with driving company strategy, developing sales engagements and building industry partnerships. Before Axiom, was a product line director at Skyworks/Conexant.
NOTABLE: Indie’s 2024 revenue grew nearly 4% to $202.7M. Company (Nasdaq: INDI) says its prospects for this year are positive, despite the huge pressures facing the chip industry.
