Burbank-based Walt Disney Co. has reinstated Bob Iger as chief executive, replacing Bob Chapek, who was named CEO in 2020.
Iger was previously CEO of the company from 2005 to 2020. He has agreed to a two-year contract to return to the top post following calls from Wall Street, Disney executives and fans to replace Chapek, reports indicate. Iger is expected to groom another successor during those two years.
Disneyland Resort, which includes three hotels, two amusement parks and a retail and restaurant district, is largely overseen by Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock, who replaced Rebecca Campbell in May 2020, and Josh D’Amaro, a former Disneyland Resort president and current chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.
