John Wayne Airport Traffic Up 20% Over Pre-Pandemic Levels

Nearly 1.1M passengers flew in and out of the airport in October

John Wayne Airport served nearly 1.1 million passengers in October, marking a 24% increase from last year, and a 20% increase from October of 2019.

Traffic is also up about 250% from October 2020, when Orange County was in the midst of a travel shutdown due to the pandemic.

However, total aircraft operations—including takeoffs and landings—dipped 0.6% in October to 26,005.

The top three airlines in October 2022 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines.
