Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction has wrapped work on the $33 million overhaul of the Sheraton Park Anaheim Hotel.
The renovation marks “the building’s first facelift in over 40 years,” and was “a top-to-bottom transformation of the 14-story hotel,” according to the general contractor. R.D. Olson Construction handled the work on behalf of New York-based institutional investor Taconic Capital Advisors LP, which paid $51 million for the 490-room hotel in late 2019.
The 270,000-square-foot renovation included upgrades to the guestrooms, meeting areas, main lobby and elevator areas, hallways, management offices and back-of-house areas.
“R.D. Olson Construction began work in May of 2021, and strategically planned a phased remodel to ensure that the project had minimal impact to guests, staff and visitors at the Sheraton Park Anaheim,” Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D. Olson Construction, said in a statement.
Other recent local hotel renovation projects from R.D. Olson Construction include a full modernization of the Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Water Playground in Disneyland’s Resort District.
