Long Beach-based Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corp. has opened an Irvine office.
“We wanted an OC office to get more clients and also to handle our existing clients that are based here,” said Heidi Wieczorek, marketing coordinator with Windes.
Windes’ clients mainly are privately held companies, such as auto dealers and builders, and wealthy people. It provides auditing, human resources consulting, tax preparation and returns, and employment benefits services, among others.
For now, the company’s 3,500-square-foot space at 18201 Von Karman Ave. in Irvine will be chiefly a site for meeting with clients. By the end of 2005, Windes expects to have about 15 permanent staff at Von Karman Towers.
Founded in 1926, Windes counts about 120 employees, including 90 certified public accountants. The company also has an office in Torrance.
