Laguna Beach ZIP code 92651 was tops in the number of active $4 million-plus real estate listings in Orange County as of Oct. 15, with 63 listings, according to data from Web-based real estate database aggregators Redfin and Zillow.
Newport Coast’s 92657 had 62 listings. Dana Point’s 92629, which includes the new oceanfront community of the Strand at Headlands, had 49 high-end homes on the market.
The ZIP code with the fourth highest number of luxury listings was Corona del Mar’s 92625, with 27.
Tied for fifth place were the Irvine 92603 ZIP code, which primarily encompasses the private community of Shady Canyon, and Newport Beach’s 92660; both had 21 active luxury listings.
Four of OC’s priciest, listed homes were in Laguna Beach’s 92651, listed at $60 million, $51 million, $45 million and $35 million.
Private, Pristine
The Mediterranean oceanfront estate at 2 Rockledge Road in Laguna Beach fetched $10 million, nearly meeting its July list price of $10.5 million. The sale closed Oct. 7.
The home, remodeled this year, has three bedrooms, 3 ½ baths and 3,850 square feet of living space on a 10,454-square-foot lot. It includes a living room with unobstructed views, a formal dining room, and a chef’s kitchen with four ovens, two sinks, and a large side-by-side Sub-Zero refrigerator.
The home also features vanishing glass walls, limestone and travertine floors, and numerous ocean-view terraces. The private courtyard includes a large entertaining area, an outdoor kitchen with built-in barbecue, and a jetted spa.
The sale was represented by Denine Kerns of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices on the seller’s side and Michael Dipilla of Berkshire on the buyer’s side.
Fifty Feet of Potential
The three-bedroom, three-bath midcentury home at 11 Harbor Island in Newport Beach sold on Oct. 9 for $7.5 million, under its May list price of $8.3 million.
The 2,573-square-foot property sits on an 8,250-square-foot bayfront parcel with 50 feet of frontage, an oversized pier, and a private dock. The well-maintained home, which has been owned by the same family for more than six decades, is primed for a rebuild or refresh.
The lot includes mature trees and a bayside lawn that leads to a sandy beach.
Debra Bibb of HÔM Sotheby’s International Realty worked on behalf of the seller, and AJ Olson Whitfield of Villa Real Estate represented the buyer.
A ‘Lot’ to Appreciate
The 5,835-square-foot, six-bedroom, six-bath home at 3620 Ocean Blvd. in Corona del Mar sits on a 7,245-square-foot elevated parcel with views of the Newport Harbor entrance, Catalina Island and the ocean.
It sold on Oct. 1 for $7 million, meeting its September list price.
The new owner plans to raze the home, which was built in 1981, and construct a custom estate on the property.

Sought-After and Serene
The 8,000-square-foot, ocean-view estate at 1100 Ebbtide Road in Corona del Mar sold on Oct. 9 for $6 million, under its May list price of $6.75 million.
The five-bedroom, five-bath home is nestled on a third of an acre on what the listing agent calls “Corona del Mar’s most sought-after street.”
Its veranda provides a vantage point from which to view boating activity and sunsets on the water. The outside area also includes a large barbeque island, dining area, and a private swimming pool and spa.
The master suite features a seating area, harbor views and a fireplace. The master bath includes a hydrotherapy tub, steam shower and heated marble flooring.
The home also has an elevator and wine room, as well as a game/media room with a kitchenette. A multizone climate control and security system completes the property.
