Vacation Vibe in Laguna Beach Offered for $12.9M

Love heading to tropical destinations but can’t get away from the office for too long? Consider the $12.9 million Laguna Beach home of couple Clay and Delphine Berryhill at 1000 Flamingo Road.

The 10,200-square-foot property on nearly an acre, about a mile inland, is a three-story home with ocean views and an infinity edge saltwater pool with a waterfall, swim-up bar and 10-person hot tub. There’s also a cabana and separate pool house with a shower and steam room.

The home has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as a professional recording studio, 1,000-bottle wine room, sculptural staircase made of glass and a 10-car garage with a turnaround accommodating eight additional vehicles.

The home was first listed in 2015 with an asking price of $20 million and has been on and off the market before re-listing last week at the current asking price.

Records show the couple purchased the home in 2011 for $3.35 million. At the time, the home was partially built so they tapped architect Kirk Saunders and designer Ohara Davies-Gaetano.

Delphine said in an interview with Modern Luxury that they “wanted a place that seemed like we were on vacation.”

Clay is the founder of production company 133 FilMusic Group, which he launched after selling his previous company Simple Mobile, a wireless service provider, to Mexico’s America Movil in 2012.

His wife, Delphine, was the founder of the now shuttered Butterfli Me Makeup Studio in Irvine.

Julian Channels of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has the listing.

Laguna Niguel Compound

A home tied to former Miss California and one-time publisher of Orange Coast Magazine Toni Kay Tuso-Faber and her husband, Bruce, is on the market with an asking price of $10.9 million.

The 11,900-square-foot compound, accessed behind a 24-hour security guard and three private gates, is on more than 2 acres in the hillside community of Bear Brand Ranch in Laguna Niguel. It has five bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

Entering through the home’s double entry doors, guests are greeted with a nearly all-white interior featuring Grecian Marble floors, 20-foot ceilings and several serving bars, as well as an outdoor “great room” adjacent to an outdoor kitchen under a roof that has built-in commercial heaters. There’s also a 20-foot waterfall serving as the backdrop to the home’s saltwater pool and spa.

Other features include a guest house, RV/nine-car garage, 300 solar panels supplying energy to the entire property, two backup generators, intercom system, surveillance and security alarms.

Tuso-Faber, who died in 2016, was also the author behind the illustrated children’s book “The Poodle Tales,” a 24-book collection for kids ages 4 to 9.

Carl Capitano of Re/Max Masters Realty has the listing.

Street of Bayside

Bayside Drive in Corona Del Mar is doubling up with new construction projects topping the $24 million mark.

A new bay front listing along the street with an asking price of $24.9 million recently came to market, although interested buyers will have to wait until 2020 before moving into the under-construction home.

The four-story home at 2209 Bayside Drive will have five bedrooms and eight bathrooms spread across 8,278 square feet.

The main level will have a two-story atrium, elevator, butler’s pantry, private courtyard, spa, gym, office and private guest suite, while the second floor includes the master wing with a private fireplace, sitting room, balcony and dual master baths and closets.

The lower level has a more than 2,800-square-foot garage, mudroom, beach storage, theater room and wine cellar.

There will also be 2,700 square feet of outdoor living space, but if guests are looking for a better view they can head to the home’s rooftop deck. The property includes shared ownership of the longest private deep-water dock on the West Coast accommodating a 100-foot and 75-foot yacht, according to listing details.

The dock will be shared with 2201 Bayside Drive, a 9,129-square-foot under-construction home profiled in the Jan. 28 edition of the Business Journal. That house, also expected to open in 2020, has a $25.9 million asking price.

The 2209 Bayside home is designed by Brandon Architects with Patterson Custom Homes and Brooke Wagner Design.

Janelle File of Compass and Brandon Goethals of Surterre Properties have the listing.
