Startup Buys Silicon Valley Company

Newport Beach-based startup Predictive Inc. acquired a Silicon Valley software maker developing advanced learning applications. Financial terms of the deal for Sunnyvale-based 2338 Technologies were undisclosed.

The agreement calls for 2338 founder and Chief Executive Carl Evans to take the title of co-founder, chief product officer and corporate counsel of the combined operation.

Predictive’s Raj Sultanian will retain his chief executive title.

Predictive started operations this year and has a handful of workers.

2338 was established last year and employs fewer than 10. Its technology will power PredictiveOps, a software subscription service that gleans data from documents and regulatory filings to help hedge fund managers make business decisions.

The product is scheduled to end private beta tests next month.
