Software Maker Buys Colorado Firm

Irvine-based Flatirons Solutions acquired the assets of a Colorado company that specializes in flight operations software.

Financial details of the buy of TechPubs Global weren’t disclosed.

The company’s software is used by flight crews, cabin crews, and ground and ramp workers to help operate flights in a safe, efficient and regulatory-compliant manner, according to Pat Dawson, vice president of solutions marketing for Flatirons.

TechPubs Global’s customers include Etihad Airways, Air Canada, Southwest, JetBlue Airlines, Virgin America and United Airlines. Most of its employee base of fewer than 50 will be retained in Colorado, Dawson said.

Flatirons provides product, service and content management software for the energy, financial services, media and healthcare sectors, among others.

It was acquired in 2013 on undisclosed terms by InfoTrust, which spun out of French parent company Jouve in 2005.
