Thirty-two home transactions above $4 million closed in June, including two that captured sales prices above $10 million. Both of those homes are in Newport Beach: one in prestigious Pelican Crest that sold for $10.7 million, the other a bayfront cottage on the sand that fetched $10.5 million.
Rounding out the top three priciest homes sold in June is a European-inspired mansion in Corona del Mar with modern design elements that drew a closing price topping $9 million.
European Inspiration
The 7,762-square-foot ocean-view home at 4607 Gorham Drive in Corona del Mar closed for $9.25 million on June 13, under its November list price of $9.975 million.
The residence, inspired by the manors that dot the French countryside, is designed with elements that include white oak and marble floors, custom woodwork, beamed ceilings, and natural stone surfaces throughout.
There are five bedrooms, six baths, and a gourmet kitchen, in addition to a private home theater, game room, living room, gym, yoga studio, and a 300-bottle temperature controlled dine-in wine room.
The grounds include an open-air courtyard and Zen space.

The Living’s Easy
The contemporary ocean-view home at 331 Monarch Bay Drive in Dana Point sold on June 27 for $8.3 million. Its list price in January was $9 million.
The home spans 5,000 square feet, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Its open floor plan seamlessly connects all of the main living spaces and includes a spacious family room with custom fireplace and built-ins, dining area, and chef’s kitchen complete with professional-grade stainless steel appliances, oversized center island with prep sink, and breakfast bar.
Further amenities include a media room, elevator, travertine tile, electric solar shades, and heated floors.

Coveted Island Home
The 3,153-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bath home at 808 Via Lido Nord on Lido Isle in Newport Beach sold on June 24 for $7.9 million, coming in under its list price that same month of $8.1 million.
The lot is 60 feet wide and has a private pier, as well as a slip for other vessels, and affords direct access to the sand. It also has access to private beaches, tennis and playgrounds as part of Lido Isle’s private community.
Custom touches inside include open-beam and white-slatted wood ceilings and an expanse of windows overlooking the bay.

Steps from the Sand
The Mediterranean-style home at 11 Emerald Bay in Laguna Beach sold for $6 million on June 27, coming in under its March list price of $6.4 million.
Three bedrooms, four baths, a chef’s kitchen, family room, dining room, and living room are arranged in a 3,719-square-foot open-plan design. The home is situated six houses from the beach on the ocean side of the gated Emerald Bay community.
Its finishes include limestone floors, marble countertops, warm woods, and top-of-the-line fixtures and appliances. There are elevated view decks outside, including one with an outdoor fireplace.

Not to Be Overlooked
The Italianate home at 39 Overlook Drive in Newport Coast sold on June 27 for $4.2 million, under its March list price of $4.75 million.
The 3,700-square-foot, single-level residence showcases 180-degree ocean, mountain and Catalina Island views. It has three bedrooms and 3½ baths. Recent upgrades include granite countertops, crown molding, custom built-in bookshelves, and whole-house speakers.
The backyard is complete with a Jacuzzi, fireplace, covered loggia, and built-in barbecue.
