Orange County’s esports hub has another player.
Esportz Entertainment Corp., an Irvine-based media and marketing firm geared toward gamers, hopes to capture the attention of fans through social media, streaming channels, mobile applications and merchandise sales.
Esportz Pro will develop custom media strategy courses and curriculum for players, teams, students, and brand sponsors, as well as design exclusive esports fan apparel and merchandise.
Its Esportz Network affiliate will share esports news, headlines, and entertainment shows through its website. A media center and broadcast studio will also feature esports-centric shows streamed through the Esportz Network site, mobile, YouTube, Twitch, and other esports channels.
The network plans to launch next month and has struck a deal with OC Talk Radio to provide daily esports recaps. Esportz Entertainment has an agreement with Philadelphia-based communication software firm Orai Inc. to customize its mobile media training application.
Esportz is led by founder and Chief Executive Mark Thimmig, a longtime OC marketing, PR and branding entrepreneur.
“We intend to cover esports in an expansive way that has never been done before,” he said in an announcement. “Our focus for Esportz Entertainment and the Esportz Network is targeted towards building our brand, growing our esports viewing audience, adding subscribers, developing our tournament sponsor participation and attracting gamers to participate in regular tournaments.”
Esportz Entertainment is aiming to raise $1 million on StartEngine as it spreads awareness about its products and services.
