Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.3% in midday trading to 2,061.36.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.3% to 17,694.80.

The NASDAQ was up 0.3% to 4,863.24.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 0.3% to 1.82%.

The price of gold was down 0.7% to $1,229

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based Western Digital Corp. was down 5.5% to $45.65 and a $10.6 billion market cap. A news report said the memory products maker is raising yields by 1 percentage point on both parts of a $5.6 billion bond offering—called “the largest junk bond offering” in 2016—intended to help pay for the company’s purchase of rival SanDisk Corp.

HEALTHCARE

Laguna Hills-based Glaukos Corp., which makes products to treat glaucoma, was up 8.5% to $17.14 and a $555 million market cap on above average volume.

RESTAURANTS

Irvine-based Habit Restaurants Inc., a fast-casual hamburger chain, was up 6.6% to $19.26 and a $499 million market cap on moderate volume.
