Midday Stock Roundup

Indices were down in midday trading on fresh declines in oil prices.

The S&P 500 was down 1.7% to 1,906.73. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.7% to 16,177.37. The NASDAQ was down 1.8% to 4,534.35

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 4.3% to 1.88%.

The price of gold was down 0.2% to $1,125.

REAL ESTATE

Local home builders were down as part of the broader market decline. Irvine-based CalAtlantic Group Inc. fell 3% to $30.60 and a market cap of $3.8 billion. Irvine-based Tri Pointe Group Inc. was down 4.6% to $10.02 and a $1.7 billion market cap. Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes declined 6.4% to $10.03 and a $333 million market cap. Aliso Viejo-based new Homer Co. Inc. was down 4.9% to $9.11 and a $191 million market cap.

RETAIL

Irvine-based Boot Barn Holdings Inc. was down 15% to $5.44 and a $143 million market cap. The western wear retailer reports results after markets close today.
