REAL ESTATE
Orange County homebuilders were up on a report by the National Association of Realtors in Washington, D.C. that said Chinese buyers are now the largest group of foreign buyers of U.S. real estate and that about half of them buy homes with cash.
Irvine-based CalAtlantic Group was up 2.2% to $40.61 and a $4.9 billion market cap. Irvine-based Tri Pointe Group was up 2.5% to $14.14 and a $2.2 billion market cap. Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up 5.3% to $22.78 and a $675 million market cap. Aliso Viejo-based New Home Co. Inc. was up 3% to $13.63 and a $225 million market cap.
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Multi-Fineline Electronix Inc. was up 5.8% to $20 and a $487 million market cap on above-average volume. Shares in the printed circuit board maker have risen 10% this week.
