Major stock indices declined in midday trading on concerns over lagging economic growth.
The S&P 500 was down 1.1% to 2,102.46. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.2% to 18,014.58. The Nasdaq was down 1.3% to 5,026.87.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 3.1% to 2.15%
The price of gold was down 1.4% to $1,187.
HEALTHCARE
Newport Beach-based diagnostic imaging facility operator Alliance HealthCare Services Inc. was down 3.8% to $19.31 and a $204 million market cap on higher-than-average trading volume.
SERVICES
Irvine-based Autobytel Inc. was down 3.2% to $17.38 and a $182 million market cap, giving back some of its price increase from the last trading session, when shares closed up more than 30% on news it bought a competitor for $25 million.
