Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.4% to 2,090.27 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.6% to 17,973.47 and the Nasdaq was up 0.2 to 4,993.67.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 1.3% to 1.98%.

The price of gold rose 1.5% to $1,169.

RETAIL

Irvine-based Tilly’s Inc. was up 10.7% to $14.85 and a $417 million market cap. The apparel retailer yesterday reported fourth quarter revenue and income that beat analysts’ expectations, though net income for all of 2014 declined. New York-based Brean Capital this morning reiterated a “buy” rating and an $18 price target, citing organic growth and product variety, among other factors. Tilly’s shares have risen about 40% year-to-date.

HEALTHCARE

Mission Viejo-based CareTrust REIT Inc. was up 2.6% to $13.24 and a $418 million market cap. The health facilities operator increased its quarterly dividend by about 30% and said it was “actively pursuing a number of potentially accretive acquisition targets.”
