Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was flat at 2,061.66 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.1% to 17,855.92, and the Nasdaq was down 0.2% to 4,755.31.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 6.28% to 1.93%.

The price of gold fell 2.3% to $1,233.80.

HOMEBUILDING

Irvine-based Standard Pacific Corp. was up 4% to $7.57 and a $2.1 billion market cap. Yesterday after markets closed, the builder reported quarterly and full-year increases in several categories that include revenue, net income, new orders, sale price, home deliveries, and land buying. Margins were squeezed in the fourth quarter but up for the full year, the company said.

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based Multi-Fineline Electronix Inc. was down 10.4% to $13.32 and a $322 million market cap. The circuit boards maker cited seasonal declines as it provided current quarter guidance on net sales and operating income below analysts’ expectations.
