The S&P 500 was flat at 2,027.61 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.1% to 17,666.11, and the Nasdaq was up 0.3% to 4,679.74.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.6% to 1.92%.
The price of gold rose 0.3% to $1,237.
TECHNOLOGY
Costa Mesa-based Emulex Corp. was up 22% to $7.08 and a $505 million market cap. The networking products maker said preliminary results for its December quarter show revenue of about $110 million instead of a previously announced $102 million to $108 million, and earnings of 4 to 5 cents per share, compared with an expected loss of up to 4 cents per share.
RETAIL
Irvine-based Tilly’s Inc. was up 18.7% to $13.78 and a $387 million market cap. The apparel retailer said its holiday quarter earnings would be 21 cents to 23 cents per share, compared with a prior announcement of 15 cents to 19 cents per share and a consensus estimate of 18 cents per share. B. Riley & Co. upgraded its stock today from “neutral” to “buy.”
