The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.28% to 17,697.43 and the Nasdaq rose 0.65% to 4,701.92.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 0.77% to 2.32%.
The price of gold rose 1.07% to $1,196.20.
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based multimedia company Ubiquity Inc. was up 10.9% to 90 cents and a market cap of $89.6 million. It said it’s working to secure an underwriter for a planned uplisting from the OTC markets to the Nasdaq.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based drug maker Allergan Inc. was up 2.2% to $213.66 and a market cap of $63.7 billion. Activist investor Bill Ackman said he supported Allergan’s deal to sell to Acatavis Plc for $66 billion. Ackman also said he would withdraw from a special shareholder meeting next month.
