HOMEBUILDING
Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up 3.7% to $25 and a market capitalization of $781 million. It reported home sales revenue for the quarter ended June 30 grew 39% to $168.2 million compared to $120.6 million in the same period last year. The average sales price of its homes increased 43% to $500,500 this year compared to $349,700 in the same quarter last year. It sold nine fewer homes—336 to 345—in the current quarter compared to the same period last year.
EDUCATION
Santa Ana-based Corinthian Colleges Inc. was down 12.8% to $0.16 and a market cap of $14.2 million. It said it received a grand jury subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles seeking documents on job placement, graduation rates and marketing and recruiting materials.
