The S&P 500 was down 0.8% at 4,316.17.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1.1% to 34.420.75.

The Nasdaq fell 0.5% to 14,560.63.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond dropped 4.8% to 1.36%

The price of gold increased 0.5% to $1,793.

The price for a barrel of oil fell to 2.5% to $73.29.

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based memory products maker Netlist Inc. (OTC: NLST) shares continued their runup from last week, jumping 16.1% to $5.55 apiece for a market cap of $1.2 billion. Analyst website SeekingAlpha.com said yesterday: “There could be significant retail investor interest as Netlist is popular on several social media websites.”

SERVICES  

Irvine-based Montrose Environmental Group Inc (NYSE: MEG) fell 5.4% to $46.50 apiece for a market cap of $1.2 billion. The company earlier today announced the acquisition of Environmental Intelligence LLC, an environmental consulting company.
