The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 1.3% to 29,191.94.
The Nasdaq was 0.2% higher to 9,483.06.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond leapt 2.9% to 1.65%.
The price of gold ticked up 0.4% to $1,562.
A barrel of oil was 3.4% higher to $51.30.
RETAIL
Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) fell 11% to $37.75 and a $1.1 billion market cap. The Irvine-based Western wear retailer reported positive quarterly results but lower guidance.
RESTAURANTS
Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) dipped 2.8% to $860.27 and a $23.9 billion market cap, giving back some increases in the run-up to its quarterly and full year report yesterday. The fast-casual restaurant chain said digital and overall sales were higher and it opened 140 restaurants last year.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based Iteris Inc. (Nasdaq: ITI) climbed more than 10% to $5.65 and a $229 million market cap on 24% revenue growth in its third quarter. Iteris makes sensors and systems for transportation and agricultural applications.
