The S&P 500 was up 0.5% at midday trading to 3,306.60.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.6% to 29,192.80.
Nasdaq was also up by 0.7% to 9,320.52.
Crude oil rose 1.5% to $58.70 a barrel.
The price of gold fell 0.3% to $1,550 per ounce.
The yield on a 10-year bond rose 1.5% to 1.81%.
REAL ESTATE
Irvine-based Five Point Holdings LLC. (NYSE: FPH) rose 6.7% to $8.94 a share and a $1.3 billion market cap. Trading volume was nearly double its 90-day average and shares are up more than 30% since the land planner said it sold some 800 homesites at Valencia, in north Los Angeles County.
HEALTHCARE
NextGen Healthcare Inc. (Nasdaq: NXGN), also in Irvine, was up 3.1% to $16.14 a share and a $1 billion market cap. Zacks anticipates 11% year-over-year growth in earnings per share at the medical practice software provider.
