The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a 0.4% increase to 27,022.96.
The Nasdaq climbed 0.3% to 8,953.52.
Crude oil rose 0.2% to $60.53 a barrel.
Gold was up 0.5% to $1,488 an ounce.
The yield on a 10-year bond inched up 1.1% to 1.94%.
HEALTHCARE
Endologix, Inc. (Nasdaq: ELGX) surged 6.6% to $1.82 and a $33 million market cap. Shares for the Irvine-based medical device maker are currently trading at twice their daily average. They are still down from a stock price of $7.40 at the start of the year.
Tustin-based Avid Bioservices Inc. (Nasdaq: CDMO) rose 3.5% to $7.75 and a $437 million market cap. Shares for Avid, a contract manufacturer of medicines, are up 81% since the start of the year.
