Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 declined 0.3% in midday trading to 2,445.17.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.3% to 21,830.03.

The Nasdaq fell 0.4% to 6,273.76.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 1.5% to 2.18%.

The price of gold increased 0.3% to $1,294.

TECHNOLOGY

Newport Beach-based Veritone Inc. (Nasdaq: VERI) climbed 14% to $13.01 and a $194 million market cap. Shares of the company, which has an online ad-placement business and is trying to expand into artificial intelligence, have climbed about 65% in the past week following positive coverage in Barron’s and Forbes.

HEALTHCARE

Irvine-based Cryoport Inc. (Nasdaq: CYRX) dropped 8.5% to $6.86 and a $164 million market cap. Shares of the life sciences services company had risen 20% since it reported a 52% increase in quarterly revenue at the beginning of August and are up three-fold since March.
