RESTAURANTS

El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. in Costa Mesa was down 2.6% to $13.05 and a $501 million market cap on above-average volume. The fast food chicken chain had been mentioned as a potential takeover target of Restaurant Brands International Inc., which owns Burger King and the Tim Hortons doughnut shop chain, but RBI agreed today to buy a different chicken-based concept, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen Inc., for $1.6 billion.

TECHNOLOGY

Iteris Inc. in Santa Ana was down 6% to $5 and a $161 million market cap on above-average volume. The firm makes traffic data collection and analytic products.

Lantronix Inc. in Irvine was up 5% to $2.35 and a $41 million market cap on high volume. Lantronix makes data management products for Internet of Things and networking applications. The company’s shares are up 137% over the last year.
