Banc of California Inc. in Irvine was down 2.6% to $16.80 and an $833 million market cap. Activist investor PL Capital in Chicago said the bank holding company was undervalued compared to its peers and questioned its $100 million deal to secure naming rights for a soccer stadium.
RETAIL
Boot Barn Holdings Inc. in Irvine was down 3.7% to $11.58 and a $305 million market cap. The retail operator of western apparel stores announced preliminary net income of 39 cents per share for its most recent quarter, at the low end of its guidance of 38 cents to 43 cents.
