Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.4% in midday trading to 2,172.52.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.2% to 18,821.68.

The NASDAQ was down 0.5% to 5,222.78.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 1% to 2.09%.

The price of gold was down 0.5% at $1,270.

FINANCE

Orange County banks were up on expectations the Federal Reserve will increase interest rates this year and that the president-elect may lessen regulations in the financial sector.

Opus Bank in Irvine was up 4.5% to $22 and a $754 million market cap. Banc of California in Irvine was up 3.2% to $14.13 and a $703 million market cap. First Foundation Inc. was up 0.8% to $24.85 and a $403 million market cap.

California First National Bancorp was up 2.5% to $14.60 and a $150 million market cap. Pacific Mercantile Bancorp in Costa Mesa was up 3.8% to $6.22 and a $143 million market cap.
