Markets were higher in midday trading after the FBI said it wouldn’t pursue charges against presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
The S&P 500 was up 2% to 2,127.50. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.9% to 18,232.21.57. The NASDAQ was up 2.4% to 5,165.69.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was 2.4% to 1.83%.
The price of gold fell 1.9% to $1,284.
HEALTHCARE
Masimo Corp. in Irvine was up 5.3% to $60.22 and a $3 billion market cap. The maker of medical monitoring products settled patent disputes with Koninklijke Philips NV in Amsterdam, which agreed to pay $300 million and use Masimo technology in its products for several years.
RETAIL
Boot Barn Holdings Inc. in Irvine was up 6.5% to $13.78 and a $364 million market cap on high volume.
