The S&P 500 was up 1.3% to 2,926.16 at midday while The Dow Jones Industrial average rose 1.3% to 25,370.01. Nasdaq jumped 1.56% at midday to 7,979.55.
Crude oil was also up 1.36% to $56.54 a barrel.
Gold fell 0.84% to $1,536.10.
The yield on a 10-year bond rose 4.23% to 1.528%.
SERVICES
Collectors Universe Inc. (Nasdaq: CLCT) saw an 8.8% increase to $25.25 a share and a $230 million market cap. The Newport Beach company, a provider of services for dealers of collectibles, reported fourth quarter sales rose 16% to a company record $19.8 million while net income tripled to $2.8 million, or 31 cents a share.
HEALTHCARE
Urovant Sciences Ltd. (Nasdaq: UROV) jumped 11% to $8.50 a share and $258 million market cap. An Aug. 16 press release disclosed the Irvine-based company, which is developing methods to treat overactive bladders, is preparing to file a New Drug Application by early 2020.
