MemorialCare Opens South County Center

It’s not just housing that’s growing in the South County master-planned community of Rancho Mission Viejo.

MemorialCare Health System, the Fountain Valley-based four-hospital healthcare delivery system that operates more than 200 care systems across Southern California, recently opened a new 26,000-square-foot, comprehensive health center in RMV’s Sendero Marketplace shopping center.

It’s the first large healthcare facility in the fastest-growing community in South OC. It broke ground in late 2018 and is designed to be a one-stop shop for a wide range of healthcare needs, according to MemorialCare officials.

Foundation for Area

The new facility offers a range of primary care physicians and services. Providers include family medicine physicians, pediatricians, obstetricians and gynecologists, sports medicine specialists and other specialty physicians, nurses, medical assistants and support personnel.

The new center “is the foundation of community health for the active, growing and exciting Rancho Mission Viejo community,” said Marcia Manker, chief executive of MemorialCare Saddleback and Orange Coast Medical Centers. “The new health center is a perfect fit for people of all ages with a wide range of healthcare needs. If patients require hospital care, MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center’s exceptional team of clinicians and support staff are just a short distance away.”

RMV was the country’s No. 32 best-selling master-planned community last year, with 445 sales, according to data from Irvine’s John Burns Real Estate Consulting. See this week’s Special Report on housing for more; it starts on page 21.
