J.D. Power Focuses on Deals to Boost Image

Two is better than one for consumer insights and analytics firm J.D. Power.

The Costa Mesa-based firm, best known for its work in the automotive industry, partnered with two data technology firms this month—ClickFox Inc. based in Greenwood Village, Colo. and Reputation.com Inc. in Redwood City.

J.D. Power will provide data and analytics information to the firms to help companies better manage their online reputations, as well as improve their customer relationships.

Financial terms of the partnerships were undisclosed.

ClickFox provides a platform that connects data across a variety of channels to help companies analyze a customer’s journey, enabling firms to improve customers’ experience while saving on costs.

Its primary industries are financial services, energy, retail, healthcare and insurance.

J.D. Power Chief Digital Officer Bernardo Rodriguez said the partnership allows the research firm to “provide an additional level of analysis to make the best recommendation for organizations that want to increase the ROI of their experience optimization initiatives.”

Reputation.com’s B2B online service uses insights from social media and review websites to help companies understand their online reputations.

Until now, consumer-facing businesses “were unable to capture, consolidate and deeply analyze customer feedback from market research, surveys, online consumer reviews, social media posts and other sources in a unified, integrated platform,” according to J.D. Power.

Through this partnership, “we can advise clients on their online reputation and how that plays into their overall customer satisfaction related to J.D. Power benchmarks and customer research,” Rodriguez said in a statement.

“Top companies want to differentiate themselves on customer experience, and that means taking a holistic look at all forms of customer feedback.”

California Love
The Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate near Disneyland announced a new look and name this month.

The 200-suite hotel dropped its Marriott affiliation and rebranded to Clementine Hotel & Suites Anaheim.

Along with the name change, the property was renovated with a warmer color palette meant to evoke citrus groves and “poolside fun.”

General Manager Beckley Van Cleave said in a statement that it’s excited “to unveil our independent brand with a unique Southern California experience and friendly service by all of our associates.”

The hotel and its condominium-inspired suites also offer guests a complimentary breakfast buffet, shuttle access to Disneyland, complimentary parking and a grocery delivery service.

Clementine is managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts Inc. and owned by Holiday Garden Hotels, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based hotel investment and operating company Holiday Garden Corp. that includes six branded and independent hotels with more than 1,000 rooms.

Mead has been on the team’s communications staff for nearly 40 years.

Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp. received the distinguished service award for an organization for its community outreach programs.

There were 25 categories, including community relations, consumer programs, media relations and special events.

Winners of some of the top prizes included marketing firms Westbound Communications, Ray Public Relations, Idea Hall, and Powerhouse Communications.
