Maryam Rofougaran says she expects 2020 will be the year that Movandi Corp., the 5G telecom equipment company she runs with her brother Reza Rofougaran, starts to hit its stride.
“Next year is where we’re going to have a good amount of revenue,” she told the Business Journal. “That’s what we expect.”
She is co-founder, chief operating officer and co-CEO while Reza is co-founder, co-CEO and CTO.
CNBC television in named Movandi to its “Upstart 100” list, signaling the company is one to watch in 2020, while the company boasts of “revolutionizing 5G everywhere.”
5G is the fifth generation of cellular wireless technology now on its way in the U.S. It’s designed to provide high-bandwidth connectivity that can be up to 100 times faster than the 4G LTE connections people rely on today.
The company has raised about $40 million in funding since its founding and now employs about 58 people.
