Huntington Beach-based insurer Confie entered the Massachusetts market with the acquisition of Axiom Insurance Agency in Springfield on undisclosed terms.
Axiom provides personal insurance in the Springfield, New Bedford and Worchester markets. All of its employees will become part of Confie, the company said.
Confie Chief Executive Valeria Rico said the company wants to buy other companies in Massachusetts, specifically in the Boston area.
Confie was established in 2008 and has grown largely via acquisitions of smaller brokerage firms throughout the U.S. The company has about 700 retail locations and generates about $500 million in annual revenue.
The Business Journal ranked it No. 21 among OC’s biggest insurance brokers, with $6.8 million in local revenue.
