Company to Watch: Brevvie

Former Irvine Co. exec Kristine Everly is heading the “briefly rent everything” company with an eye toward millennial living.

Brevvie—which provides a variety of equipment and toys through a locker system—appears to be gaining traction among apartment owners, as housing in competitive markets continues to force residents into smaller spaces.

Its series of pilot programs, most recently one in the apartment complex Avalon Studio City, bodes well for the upstart. Everly in November told the Business Journal the pilot could lead to a nationwide rollout through AvalonBay (NYSE: AVB), which is one of the country’s largest multifamily owners with a $30 billion market value.

Serving the multifamily market has paid off well for others in OC: The $100 million sale of Lori Torres’ Parcel Pending earlier this year shows that renters and other consumers are searching for convenience—and are willing to pay more for it.
