A crowd of about 600 gathered to honor Orange County executives at the Business Journal’s 11th annual CFO of the Year Awards on Thursday night.
The ceremony at Hotel Irvine recognized chief financial officers for their outstanding performance in the preceding fiscal year in five categories. Murray Rudin, managing director of the Irvine office of Los Angeles-based private-equity house Riordan, Lewis & Haden served as master of ceremonies.
The five honorees, selected from a list of 36 nominees, were:
• Kevin Rubin of Irvine-based Alteryx Inc. for public company
• Debby Morris of Lake Forest-based Apria Healthcare for private company
• John Luker of Orangewood Foundation and Samueli Academy in Santa Ana for not-for-profit company
• Todd Schull of Costa Mesa-based TTM Technologies for lifetime achievement
• Michael Martinson of Ambry Genetics in Aliso Viejo for rising star
Morris’ finance career spans 38 years. She thanked her twins, who just graduated from college.
“They have a very driven mother,” Morris said, “who’s probably driven them crazy.”
The Business Journal will profile each of the honorees in the Feb. 26 issue.
