Aliso Viejo-based Corent Technology Inc. has forged deeper ties with the world’s largest cloud services provider.
It was the only company to receive a special invite from Amazon Web Services (Nasdaq: AMZN) to present its technology to cloud partners and existing and potential customers on an eight-city tour that recently concluded in Irvine.
The invite from the booming unit underscores Corent’s breakthrough automated software migration technology, which allows developers and enterprises to quickly and easily move products to a subscription service via the cloud or a web portal.
The company’s SurPASS cloud application management service is billed as a way to trim years of research and development, speed up time to market, and reduce or eliminate engineering costs and maintenance for customers.
Amazon Web Services posted revenue last year of $17.4 billion, or roughly 9.7% of Amazon.com’s $177.8 billion in sales.
Corent, which doesn’t discuss revenue figures, has more than 150 customers, including Avis Budget (Nasdaq: CAR), Lloyd’s of London, Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) and Samsung, the world’s largest consumer electronics maker.
The company also has key relationships with Alphabet Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG); Dell, Accenture (NYSE: ACN), Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) and Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC), all big names in cloud-storage capacity.
Corent recently closed a $5 million venture capital round backed by unnamed private technologist and executive investors.
“That gives us a great runway to focus on execution and make this revolution in the industry happen,” said Fatehi, who was honored last year with a Business Journal Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award.
Corent, established in 2006, told the Business Journal that it’s raised $25 million.
It employs about a dozen in OC and 125 companywide.
