Longtime marketing and technology veteran Colson Hillier was named chief marketing officer at Irvine-based customer service provider Alorica Inc.
Hillier will be responsible for the company’s global marketing and communications initiatives, strategic planning and product development. He was previously at Verizon Wireless where he held a number of senior roles with a focus on data analytics, digital marketing and product development.
Alorica Chief Operating Officer Greg Haller, who was also at Verizon prior to joining Alorica last year, said in a statement Hillier has a record of “packaging technology and digital platforms to build profitable business operations on a global scale.”
An eye for international growth has been a key focus for the company, which operates outsourced call centers. The 20-year-old company has 130 locations in 14 countries.
Most recently, it added three call centers in Asia—one in Japan and two in the Philippines—and grew its employee count by more than 5,000. Those centers service clients in media, retail, logistics, transportation and communications.
Chief Executive Andy Lee founded the company in 1999. It has a global workforce of 100,000 and most recent reported sales of $2.3 billion in 2017.
The company said it plans to add 28,000 jobs this year “to accommodate new clients and the ongoing demand for offshore customer service solutions with a domestic feel.”
