2020 Sales Start; A Quick Recap

Brokers have pointed to a resurgence in activity for luxury homes in 2020, and that’s evidenced by the top three home sales to trade thus far this year.

Those three sold represent $60.1 million in sales volume, all in Newport Coast, according to data from Zillow.

• The priciest to date is 37 Del Mar, a 15,000-square-foot estate that traded in January for $25.1 million. John Cain of Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing for the six-bedroom, 11-bath Crystal Cove home.

• Next: The $18.8 million trade of 10 Coral Ridge, a 13,230-square-foot home built in 2017 and designed by EBTA Architects. Paul and Lili Daftarian represented the buyer and seller for the transaction.

• An 11,431-square-foot home at 21 Spinnaker sold for $16.2 million. The five-bedroom, eight-bath home was built in 2019. Cain represented the buyer and seller.

So far in 2020, a total of five homes have sold above $10 million in Orange County, representing $88 million in sales volume.
