Irvine-based Ventana Global launched its Technology Gateway Partnership II, a $50 million venture-capital fund that will make equity investments in new technologies.
The fields it will focus on are wireless, broadband, Internet and networking infrastructures. It will also use the fund for biotechnology, genomics, e-health and robotics companies.
Ventana has raised more than $230 million for its portfolio companies, which have collectively received more than $3 billion in follow-on financing.
