In preparation for the opening of the new Disneyland California Adventure Resort, the Disneyland Pacific Hotel named Hee-Won Lim general manager. Lim replaces former general manager Johnny So, who took a position with the La Quinta Resort in Palm Desert.
A Walt Disney Co. staffer since 1988, Lim was most recently resident manager at the hotel, where she was responsible for the daily operation of rooms, front desk, guest services and housekeeping. As general manager, she will head all operations of the hotel and lead a staff of 350 employees.
Of stepping into this role at a time when the Disneyland Resort is expanding, Lim said her immediate goal is to complete the hotel’s renovations and name change.
“Immediately, we are looking to accomplish the name change of the hotel to the Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel, while preparing the cast members and creating more personalized service,” said Lim.
A native of Seoul, South Korea, Lim is now a resident of Diamond Bar. She earned a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from the University of New Hampshire before joining the Walt Disney Co. as reservations manager for the Contemporary Hotel at Walt Disney World in Florida.
A self-proclaimed “soccer mom,” Lim is a mother of three who always finds time for her children.
“I always make sure that I balance my work and my kids; periodically checking their homework and spending time with them,” said Lim.
When she is not spending time with her husband and children, Lim enjoys a casual game of golf, though she admits that these games are few and far between.
