Technology OBX apparently has folded

Technology Open Bid Exchange opened a 26,000-square-foot headquarters in Lake Forest last October amid much fanfare about its business, an independent online marketplace for buyers and sellers in the technology industry. But now the company appears to have gone out of business.

At the time of Technology OBX’s launch, Chief Operating Officer Arnie Lujan had said the company planned to double its 50-person staff by early 2001. Less than a year later, Technology OBX, by all indications, has folded.

Its site, www.technologyobx.com, no longer operates. All of its contact telephone numbers have been disconnected with no forwarding numbers. Five out of six e-mails to company officials in various departments, including human resources, sales and public relations, were bounced back as undeliverable. And the company’s former public relations agency, Stoorza Communications in San Diego, indicated it did not work for Technology OBX any longer. Repeated calls made to the company by the agency were not returned.
