Runzheimer International’s Guide to Daily Travel Prices based on rates for 200 domestic destinations
Average per-diem cost for business travelers to the Orange County area was $177 in 1999, about the same as that for similar destination, Orange County, Fla. ($175). The OC area ranked No. 15 in per-diem costs last year. Leading the pack was New York at $403. San Francisco remained No. 3 at $269; Los Angeles was No. 56 at $220. Per diem total represents average costs for three meals in business-class restaurants and single-rate lodging in business-class hotels or motels, including all taxes and service charges.
