Survey of Fortune 50 companies, sent to 200 executives, with 60 responses, conducted by Costa Mesa-based Resources Global Professionals.
Two-thirds of executives said Sarbanes-Oxley compliance has not been adopted throughout their companies. Eighty-six percent said compliance costs were higher than expected, while some said that their auditing costs had increased by as much as 90%. Slightly more than half use compliance management software. Of those using compliance management software, 75% of the group’s software is not companywide. About 71% said they intend to use advisers and outside support to meet their second-year compliance.
