Costa Mesa-based Rutan & Tucker said last week that State Senator Dick Ackerman has joined the firm. Ackerman has been a member of the California Bar since 1968 and has maintained a private legal practice in Fullerton.
Ackerman has served on legislative committees such as judiciary, local government and legislative ethics. He serves as vice chair of the Senate budget and fiscal review committee. Ackerman was elected to the Senate last year after serving three terms in the State Assembly. He also has served for 12 years on Fullerton’s city council, including two terms as mayor.
Ackerman has been a member of the president’s advisory board to California State University, Fullerton, and is past president of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce.
